Quick Guide

Insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive
Select the Start Menu
Select the Settings menu item
Select the Control Panel menu item
Select the Add/Remove Programs menu item
When the Add/Remove Program panel is displayed, click the Install button
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the install. When prompted, enter the code on the back of the CD jacket

Microsoft WindowsÔ 95, 98 or WindowsÔ NT 4.0 or later
Pentium class PC with CD-ROM Drive
32 MB of RAM
at least 6MB of available hard disk space
Sound Blaster or compatible sound device
Microphone

Select the Start Menu
Select the Programs menu item
Select the BetterAccent Tutor menu item
If this is your first time using the Tutor, please select the Introduction Chapter
A Help file will automatically pop-up, please read this file and practice the five exercises that will familiarize you with the Tutor and its on-line workbook
Navigate through curriculum by double clicking on the chapter/ exercise/phrase that you would like to work with. By clicking on the Exit button you will return to a previous screen.
IMPORTANT: If, while practicing, you would like explanations on how to compare your speech with a native speaker’s sample, press the Explain button and it will open a help file with detailed explanations
If, while practicing, you see a message "Please Record Again", check that your microphone is working and that your voice is loud enough to be picked by the microphone.
